Which Hero Will Die on Season 3 of ‘Teen Wolf’?

As these last few episodes of MTV’s Teen Wolf air, we will all be warily awaiting what has been previewed for the final leg of the show’s third season: a major character death. Although 3B hasn’t racked up quite the body count that 3A boasted, everyone involved with Teen Wolf has teased the death of a major player in Beacon Hills. Series creator and cruel sadist, Jeff Davis, even hinted that the main cast (who have been on Teen Wolf since the pilot) aren’t safe. If Davis is to be believed–though he ranks up there with Steven Moffat and Joss Whedon in unreliable showrunners–no one is safe, which means fans will be going into these last 3 episodes with serious trepidation. However, like many series, fans of Teen Wolf have their theories about who will die–and I’m no different. There are a few characters who I believe are more likely to be killed off than others, though what’s most important to me is that, whoever dies, their death is given due consideration so that its impact does not fall flat.

After the deaths of Erica (Gage Golightly) and Boyd (Sinqua Walls)  in 3A–which did not feel justified within the season nor well-executed–my biggest worry about 3B’s major character death is that it won’t feel earned. So far, the villain of 3B is easily the scariest since the nogitsune doesn’t have a motivation that we know about (many of Teen Wolf’s villains are motivated by revenge, and that has gotten old). However, even though the stakes and the tension are much higher in this half of the season, a major character death needs to be wrought with emotion. After Erica and Boyd’s deaths in 3A, the series needs to showcase that they can give their characters as much thoughtful treatment in death as in life. If Teen Wolf is going to kill off one of its heroes, I want the show to rip my heart out, stomp on it, and set in on fire. Anything less–especially after all the hype–will feel like a let down.

Lose Your Mind — ‘Teen Wolf’ 3B Looks Scary Fantastic

If you thought Jan. 6 would arrive without me writing a post in anticipation of Teen Wolf’s winter premiere, you thought wrong. Teen Wolf season 3B is only 19 days away and all the promotional media leading up to the premiere has got me more excited than ever. I’m actually a bit worried because I now have only 19 days–3 weekends–left to re-watch seasons 1, 2, and 3A. That’s barely any time at all! But even as I scramble to watch all 36 episodes of Teen Wolf rather than go to holiday parties or spend time with my family (just kidding! I’ll make them watch with me,) I can’t wait for MTV’s supernatural drama to premiere. It’s one of my favorite shows and I’m thankful–as I’m sure many other fans are–that we’re even getting a winter season this year.

When last we left Beacon Hills, Scott, Stiles, and Allison had performed a dark ritual tying them to the nemeton in order to find their parents, who had been captured by the Durach/Jennifer Blake. Scott had become a True Alpha, which means he became an alpha by being a really good person rather than killing another alpha. Scott beat Deucalion, who’s pack of alphas had been either killed or disbanded. Derek gave up his alpha status to save his sister, Cora, then left town with her to get away from Beacon Hills. In one of the biggest cliffhangers of season 3A, Peter Hale killed the Durach on the nemeton and shouted, “I AM THE ALPHA! I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE ALPHA!” (Yikes.) However, Scott and his friends were happy. Though if there’s one thing I know about Teen Wolf, that won’t last long. So let’s talk about Teen Wolf 3B.

Badass Ladies of ‘Teen Wolf’

Happy Moonday! It’s finale day! Now, I know some fans have watched the leaked midseason finale of Teen Wolf, but this is a spoiler-free (at least in this case) blog. I haven’t watched the finale and I hope everyone will be tuning in with me tonight at 10pm ET on MTV, if not already watching the all-day season three marathon.

But let’s get on with this blog post: today we’re talking about the ladies of Teen Wolf because, well, they’re pretty damn awesome. Last week we learned about Stiles’s mother, Claudia Stilinski, who we’ve all wondered about for nearly two and a half seasons. She’s a special lady: she brought us Stiles, and she’s the only member of the Stilinski family on the show to have a first name. In honor of Claudia Stilinski, I thought now would be a good time to talk about all the super-cool women on Teen Wolf. A while ago I wrote a similar post called “Badass Ladies of ‘Once Upon A Time’” because that show also has a lot of kick-ass women. I wanted to turn that post into a series because we should celebrate the great ladies of TV more, and now seems like a great time for a second installment.

I’m sure there will be some people who disagree with me, but I think Teen Wolf is a good example of a show with complex and well-constructed female characters (I think we can all agree that they’re created with as much thought as the male characters.) Although I definitely became interested in the show because of all the–regularly shirtless–men, it’s safe to say I’ve stuck around just as much for the ladies as for the men. So I’m taking this time to celebrate those ladies. On this list I’ve only included characters who are still alive, but posthumous mentions go out to the badass ladies who are no longer with us: Kate Argent (played by Jill Wagner,) Victoria Argent (Eaddy Mays,) and Erica Reyes (Gage Golightly.) Happy Teen Wolf Moonday everyone! After last week’s “Motel California” and the supposed death meant to occur during tonight’s “Currents,” Teen Wolf fans are having a rough time. We went into Teen Wolf thinking MTV’s supernatural drama would just be a stupid, campy teen show full of silliness. Well, I can’t speak for every fan, but I’m certainly not coping with the events of the past few episodes. “Motel California” was the darkest, scariest episode of Teen Wolf I’ve ever seen and tonight it seems we’re going to lose someone, although that fake out with Derek during “Frayed” has left me a little skeptical. But season three hasn’t been all pain, tears, and hurtful emotions–though the recent episodes delving into Isaac’s abusive past, following Stiles’ feelings of helplessness, and revealing Boyd’s childhood trauma would have you believe differently.

Still, despite the Teen Wolf advertising team living up to their promise that this season might hurt (though I think “might” is a weak word choice,) season three has had some contrastingly positive moments. Even “Currents” promises a cute scene between Scott and Allison. From Stiles’ comedic relief to Peter’s constant sass and Lydia’s candid attitude, plus all the romance in the air, season three hasn’t been entirely sorrow and pain. So, since we’re halfway through the first part of the third season–and right between two of the most distressing episodes so far–now might be a good time to stop and remember the best happy, funny, and light-hearted moments in season three.
